Our offshore race management have preparations underway for the 2027 RPNYC Wellington to Akaroa race, scheduled to start on 4 February 2027. This offshore event takes the fleet approx 200 nautical miles south along one of New Zealand’s most distinctive stretches of coastline, finishing off the Akaroa Yacht Club, in Akaroa Harbour. The race is a highlight of the Barton Marine Offshore Championship series, offering a well‑balanced test of seamanship, navigation, and endurance.

The 2027 edition will feature two divisions: Fully Crewed and Two‑Handed. Both divisions provide opportunities for a wide range of sailors, from established offshore teams to those looking to extend their experience in a supportive but competitive environment.
