Wellington Spirit Sailing League week 1, group 1
On day one of the Wellington Spirit Sailing League, four teams were greeted with stella sailing conditions. HSBC, Belinda and Co, InterIslander and Parliamentary Services had a great afternoon's sailing. The teams were doing battle within meters of the wharf and each other.
After a short safety briefing, all four teams headed out onto the water, and were practicing their pre race maneuvers. In race one Parliamentary Services took off to a flying start, while the Girls aboard Belinda's boat unfortunately missed the start. InterIslander were consistent through out the races, but it was HSBC who came out on top of day one.
Gusty conditions made for tough sailing but all the teams managed extremely well. After three short races had been completed, we all headed up to Shed 5, where plenty of stories were told about the afternoon's racing. A lot of fun had by all!
