The league runs for five weeks in early summer (Nov-Dec) and again in late summer (Feb-Mar). Teams are made up of six members sailing each week. You can have as many substitutes as you like.

Up to 16 teams can compete in the league with sub leagues for Bankers, Accountants, Engineers-Architects, Lawyers, Real Estate Agents, and any other groups that step up to the challenge.

Your team will race on one of four racing nights each week for five weeks - either Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. Boats are ready for you at Queens Wharf at 4.45pm with racing from 5.00pm to 6.30pm.

Each team can have an experienced Wellington Spirit sailor onboard to train you and even steer if require. At the end of each night’s racing there will be a quick debrief with you and the other teams over a couple of drinks at the Green Room or similar venue on Queens Wharf.

On the final night of each league there is a prize giving party for all the teams and their supporters.

Entry fee is $1,800 excl GST with all proceeds helping to support Wellington Spirit in their quest to win the World Match Racing Championship.
