Youth Scheme Sailors ready to race in Australia

Four sailors from the Port Nicholson Yachting Trust Youth Scheme are currently in Sydney, Australia for the first leg of the Australasian youth match racing circuit ... the Harken International Youth Match Racing Championship at the Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club.

The team includes Mike Cook, Anita Trudgen, Kate Johnson-Lee and Sam Mckenzie.

For the last two days the team has been training in the unfamiliar Force 24 keelboats and received a coaching session from Oracle Team USA helmsman James Spithill.

Skipper Sam McKenzie commented that it was awesome meeting James Spithill and having him give us a few tips.”

Racing starts today, Thursday 22 November and will conclude with the finals on Sunday.
